Rabbi Velvel Belinsky

Rabbi Velvel Belinsky was born in Leningrad, Russia, to a family of mathematicians. He studied in a scientific-mathematical school and taking courses in professional acting. In his youth he was already playing main roles in theater and movies. At young age he was fortunate to discover the beauty of his Jewish culture and started learning in a Yeshiva. After immigrating to the US, he continued his Jewish studies. Today, Velvel Belinsky is an ordained rabbi and a Shaliach - an official representative of the Chabad Lubavitch movement. He is the spiritual leader of Congregation ARIEL in Baltimore, MD and the director of a Chabad Center located in the Stevenson neighborhood. He is publishing a popular weekly video blog and hosts podcasts.
