Susquehanna State Park - South Sand Island

Located about 2.5 miles South of the town of Havre de Grace, in the waters of the Susquehanna Flats area of the Chesapeake Bay, are two small sand islands. These islands are frequent stops for boaters out enjoying the sun and waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Although Camping, Alcohol, and Fires are prohibited, visitors can still enjoy having a picnic, laying in the sun, swimming, and fishing from the sand islands from sunrise to sunset.
